365 Day 253: Mixed Week 1000: Apples

Mixed week #?, I've lost count. But at least theres some boobies for you pervs. Happy?!

Saturday afternoon project

Decided I needed a break from my usual crappy/boring day and do something fun. I started my Canonet G-III QL17 restoration project. I've had this camera since I was a teenager, it was my first carry around "manual" RF camera. I loved this thing, and took it everywhere. It was a hand me down from my sister, who used it briefly and from what I remember, just left it sitting on her shelf for years, until I finally mustered up the balls to ask her to transfer ownership to me :) It had a really good run, I used it up until college, when I moved back to my dad's old F2, which I finally felt mature enough to take out of the house and used for school. Since then the Canonet's been sitting in my equipment draw gather dust and god knows what. Until today…

Most of this was pretty easy. I wanted to replace the ashy black "leatherette" on the body and replace the foam seals that have turned into this black slug. I bought a QL17 restoration kit from eBay awhile back, but the battery I bought seems to be doa, and the foam isn't really as thick as I feel it should be. So we'll have to deal with that later. But for now, I cleaned it out, removed the leatherette and replaced it with some really purdy red leather.

To be continued...

365 Day 248: NEX-5: Flare!

Talk about flare! This is some weird ass flare coming from my Industar 26M 50mm f/2.8 lens. Granted the lens looks like its been rolled over by a tank, but Ive never seen it do this on the Zorki 6. Lends itself well to the adage: "You get what you pay for."

365 Day 246: NEX-5: Boardwalk Empire

This week is kind of a mixed week, but also kind of not.

I'm testing a new (old) camera with a bunch of old (old) lenses. The Sony NEX-5 Mirrorless Digital Camera. This shot was taken with an old beat-up Exakta lens, the Steinheil München 35mm f2.8 Auto Quinaron.
